The Organisers and Sponsors would like to encourage all participants in the event to walk, cycle and use public transport where possible, as part of a healthy lifestyle.
By reducing travel by car this also helps to reduce congestion and pressure on car parking and benefits the environment by cutting down on noise and air pollution, including reducing carbon dioxide emissions which contributes to global warming.

Walking
From Manchester Oxford Road Station: approximately 2 minutes
- Depart on Great Marlborough Street
- Turn right onto Whitworth Street West

- Exit M6 at Junction 19 (Manchester Airport)
- At the roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted A556 (Manchester)
- Continue for approximately 4 miles to the next roundabout and take the 3rd exit signposted M56 (Manchester)
- Continue on the M56 for approximately 7 miles
- At Junction 33 take the right-hand lane (A5103)
- Continue on the dual carriageway for approximately 7 miles towards the City Centre
- At the roundabout follow the signs for Manchester Central
- At the lights turn right onto Whitworth Street
- Follow the road through the 1st set of lights
- At the 2nd set, The Palace Hotel is situated on the right
- To find the Euro Car Park, carry on through these lights and turn right at the next set into Princess Street
- Turn the next right into Charles Street
- Turn 1st right into Pritchard Street where you will find the Euro Car Park
From M62 East (Leeds)
- Exit the M62 at Junction 17 (Manchester)
- Follow A56 (Bury New Road) for approximately 5 miles
- Continue onto Victoria Street
- This road becomes Deansgate
- House of Fraser is on the right
- At the next lights, turn left onto John Dalton Street
- To find the Euro Car Park continue on through the 4th set of lights
- Turn right onto Charles Street at the 5th set of lights
- Turn 1st right onto Pritchard Street where you will find the Euro Car Park
- The Palace Hotel is on the corner of Oxford Street and Whitworth Street (on the left-hand side)
From the M62 West (Liverpool)
- At Junction 12 on M62 keep right and follow the M602
- Get in lane for A57 Manchester
- Continue on Regent Road
- At Harry Ramsdens go through the lights, under the bridge and bear left
- Take the 1st exit at the roundabout
- Go past Key 103 and right at the lights so you are now on Whitworth Street
- At the 2nd set of lights, The Palace Hotel is situated on the right
- To find the Euro Car Park, continue on through these lights and turn right at the next set into Princess Street
- Turn next right into Charles Street where you will find Euro Car Park
From Sheffield/Derbyshire
- Take the A57 through Glossop or the A6 through Stockport to the Apollo Theatre
- At the roundabout follow the signs for the City Centre
- At the 3rd set of lights, turn left onto Fairfield Street
- Turn left at the 2nd set of lights into Princess Street
- Turn 1st right at the lights into Charles Street
- Turn 1st right into Pritchard Street where you will find the Euro Car Park

From M61 North (Preston)
- On M61 take Junction 12 onto the M62
- At Junction 12 on the M62 keep right following M602
- Get in lane for A57 Manchester
- Continue onto Regent Road until Harry Ramsdens
- Go through the lights and continue under the bridge
- Bear left and take the 1st exit at the roundabout
- Go past Key 103 and at the lights turn right onto Whitworth Street
- Follow the road through the 1st set of lights
- At the 2nd set of lights, The Palace Hotel is situated on the right
- To find the Euro Car Park, continue through these lights and turn right at the next set into Princess Street

Car parking
The Palace Hotel does not have its own car park. However, they have an arrangement with the nearby Euro Car Park. This is a secure car park located on Pritchard Street and the rate is £10 for 24 hours. This is payable prior to departure from the car park via machines taking cash, debit/credit card.
